Matchup Of The Game Recap

Coming into the game, we highlighted the matchup between Arron Afflalo and Khris Middleton as the one to watch. It did not quite live up to the hype, as both players struggled with their shots.

Afflalo was especially off, missing a number of open jump shots en route to a 5-for-16 night that resulted in only 11 points. He added one rebounds, three assists and one steal and finished the game with a +15 ratio. Middleton did well defending him, but Afflalo also made live for Middleton difficult in the game.

Middleton had a strong scoring night finishing with 20 points, but it took a lot to get there. He shot only 6-of-16 from the field, making 1-of-3 from deep and 7-of-10 from the foul line. Like Afflalo, he also did very little outside the scoring department, grabbing only one rebound, handing out one assist with one steal and three turnovers.

Both offensive minded players saw their shots off tonight, taking away the appeal from this matchup. It will not be long until they both get things going again as they are capable of carrying the offensive load when need be.
