The New York Jets are desperate, the New England Patriots are not. Ryan Fitzpatrick is 1-7 vs. Pats with 17 interceptions but is surrounded now by hot team that has won four straight and in desperate need to keep it going. The home crowd will be buzzing, and the Jets just want this more.

This game is going to be a close one, just like previous games. I expect it to come down to the wire where either Fitzpatrick needs a score, or the defense needs a big stop. Regardless, it’s going to be close.

The difference, however, will be that New York has everything at stake in this one. A loss means that they could miss the playoffs for the 5th year in a row and for the Patriots? They’ll still likley enter the 2015 playoffs as the number one seed.

Without Julian Edelman and  Danny Amendola out, the offense simply won’t be the same for the Patriots. You will still see production from Gronkowski, but it won’t be enough to exploit one of the league’s best defenses.

It will be a close one, but the New York Jets will emerge as winners.
