The New York Jets will play host to their division nemesis the New England Patriots in hopes to keep pace in the AFC Wild Card race. There is nothing better than a divisional game at the end of the regular season, especially when both of the teams have something to play for.

For the 9-5 Jets, they’re fighting for their postseason lives, and need a victory to continue that battle. If they fail to defeat the Patriots, and wins by the Broncos, Chiefs or Steelers, their fight for a playoff spot will end in a crushing defeat. For the Patriots, a win will lock up home field advantage and make the season finale vs the Dolphins completely meaningless.

“This is why everybody in here plays the game. Playing football games like this in December and (to) have a shot at playing longer.” – Ryan Fitzpatrick

When New York and New England squared off in Week 7, we witnessed a hard-fought contest as the Patriots needed a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to come out with a victory and improve to 6-0. This has been a reoccurring theme when these two squads meet, as the last five games have all been decided by three points or less (with New England winning four of them).

With so much on the line for both teams, I expect another close one today. Here’s a full preview including everything you need to know as we get closer and closer to kickoff.
