Matchup Of The Game: Carmelo Anthony vs. LeBron James

Whenever these two superstars take the court, they are the center of attention. Tonight will be no different, as all eyes will be on the matchup between Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. They both bring the best out of each other and tonight should be no different.

In the two games thus far this season, Anthony is averaging 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. It has been a hard earned 21.5 points per game though, as Anthony is shooting only 39.5 percent from the field overall. More encouraging though, he has lit the Cavaliers up from deep, connecting at a 46.2 percent clip against the Cavaliers this season.

James has fared better in the scoring department, pouring in 27 points per game on 47.7 percent shooting. But, he has struggled from deep and the foul line, making 14.3 percent of his three-pointers and 64.7 percent of his free throws. He is also not stuffing the stat sheet as he normally does, averaging only 4.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

Not only are both of these players strong offensively, the same can be said defensively as well. James has always been regarded as a strong defender, but Anthony has really turned things up on that end of the court this season as well. It makes for a true game-long matchup as these two will be going at it on both ends of the court trying to one up each other throughout.
