Matchup Of The Game: Carmelo Anthony vs. Robert Covington

In the first matchup of the season between the Knicks and 76ers, the 76ers used a smaller lineup. With players back in the fold, expect them to use a more traditional lineup with Anthony and Covington matching up throughout the game.

Anthony has been great the last two games for the Knicks, having a big hand in the victories. Against the Portland Trail Blazers, Anthony scored 37 points to get help get the victory. Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony came one assist shy of his third career triple-double, finishing with 20 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists. That should continue against Covington, who is not a strong defender.

But, Anthony will have his hands full defensively as well. Covington is one of the few players that the 76ers have that would get playing time on a majority of teams in the NBA. He is a strong three-point shooter, something the Knicks saw first hand in the first matchup when he attempted seven of his eight shots from long range.

Covington is the second leading scorer on the 76ers and someone Anthony will have to be careful with. He cannot let him get going from deep, as it will cause unneeded problems for the Knicks en route to victory.
