The New York Knicks will look to keep their winning streak alive tonight when they travel to take on the lowly Philadelphia 76ers. It will be the second time this season that the two teams face off, as the Knicks won the first matchup 99-87. That time the game was at Madison Square Garden; this time it will be at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.

The Knicks will be entering the game on a two-game winning streak, as they are beginning to get things back on track after a disastrous four-game stretch that they were down by 20+ points in every game. If that happens against the 76ers, the Knicks will be in for some big changes as the 76ers enter this game with as many as they had the last time these two teams faced off; one.

The 76ers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on December 1st, but have no wins prior or after that date. They lost 18 straight games going into that date and have lost eight straight after, with only two games being decided by less than 10 points. The 76ers are just not a very good team, and the Knicks need to take advantage, lengthening their winning streak and gaining more confidence at the same time.

More from Empire Writes Back

The 76ers will be returning home after a three-game road trip that saw them lose by 20, 19 and 21 to the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks. Not the way you want to play on a road trip, but the 76ers may be the only organization that is pleased with those results as they want as many top draft picks as possible. That is also why Jerry Colangelo was hired so that he can help turn things around.

It will take a while to straighten out the mess that is the 76ers, and Colangelo has his work cut out for him. There is very little to get excited about on the roster, and they are easy fodder more often than not on a nightly basis.

The Knicks need to take advantage of that as long as it lasts, including tonight. What will it take for the Knicks to knock off the 76ers for the second time this season and continue their three-game winning streak? Check out our keys to the game tonight for when the Knicks and 76ers tip off at 7 PM ET.
