The New York Knicks were able to salvage their west coast trip on Saturday night when they defeated the Portland Trail Blazers. Now they will return home with some momentum and try to continue the winning ways against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves will be making their first and only appearance to Madison Square Garden tonight. They will be coming in on a cold streak of their own, as they have lost three consecutive games and seven of their last eight. But, the Timberwolves swept the season series last year, so the Knicks will be looking to exact some revenge this time around.

This is a winnable game for the Knicks, as the Timberwolves have some veterans really late into their careers such as Kevin Garnett, Tayshaun Prince and Andre Miller, but this is a very young team at the core. Those are the only players on the team, in addition to Kevin Martin, that are even in their 30’s yet. The Knicks will be facing off with the last two No.1 overall picks in Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Knicks have a youngster of their own garnering some attention around the basketball world this season in Kristaps Porzingis, so it will be fun to watch him go up against another one of the top picks from his draft class. He has already defeated Jahlil Okafor and D’Angelo Russell this season; will he had Towns to that list?
That will be one of the things to watch for tonight when the Knicks and Timberwolves take the court. What else will it take for the Knicks to get the victory tonight? Check out our keys to the game for the Knicks to come away with a victory over the Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
