The Giants needed a win in the worst way, and they came away with one against the Dolphins. For the people who are calling for Tom Coughlin to be fired, tonight showed that there is still some influence in that locker room from him and he has not lost the group.

It was also encouraging to see Ben McAdoo get the offense going a bit. He got other players involved in the passing game outside of Beckham Jr., and it helped Manning immensely has he had one of the best games of his career. It is weird to see Shane Vereen being used in such a minimal role, as he could help out in the slot.

McAdoo’s best job is probably on the offensive line, where the Giants have tons of injuries and had another one tonight with Ereck Flowers being forced from the game. The fact he got Rashad Jennings to have a season high in yards behind those injuries was impressive. It was also nice to see the Giants finally pick a running back and ride with it instead of trying to work all four into the game plan.

Defensively Steve Spagnuolo does not have much to work with, but the Giants got the job done tonight when they needed it most. They were handed some help by the Dolphins changing their game plan, but they did a solid job slowing down everyone not named Jarvis Landry in the passing game, as he was the only player to really have an impact for the Dolphins.

The coaching staff will have their hands full trying to knock off the undefeated Panthers next week, but if there is any coaching staff or franchise that knows about knocking off undefeated teams late in the season it is the Giants. Will they be able to do it once again and get one step closer to a postseason berth? We will have to wait and see until next week when the Giants host the Panthers.
