The New York Knicks were able to get back to the .500 mark on the season by blowing out the Brooklyn Nets tonight. The Knicks defeated the Nets 108-91, leading by as many as 30 points in the game. The only lead the Knicks had in the game was 6-4 early in the first half, to which the Knicks responded to with a 16-0 run to get control of the game and put it away early.

The Knicks poured in 42 points in that first quarter, as they jumped out on the Nets right from the get go and never looked back. The Knicks were able to hold on to the lead as well, as they kept the pedal to the metal throughout the night to crush their crosstown rivals.

The Knicks put on a clinic on both ends of the court throughout the evening, as they exploded offensively and were stifling defensively. The only time the Nets had any real success was in the fourth quarter against the Knicks backups when they were just trying to bleed the clock.

The Knicks got contributions from everyone, as every player that got in the game scored as the Nets seemingly had no chance once the game tipped off.

With the victory, the Knicks are now on a two-game winning streak and evened their record up at 10-10. This is the second consecutive trip that the Knicks have gone 2-2 on, as they followed up a 2-2 road trip with a 2-2 homestand at Madison Square Garden. They are also only one game under .500 at MSG now, winning four of their last six games on their home court.

The Nets on the other hand saw their struggles away from Barclay’s Center continue. The Nets are now 1-11 on the road, as their overall record dropped to disappointing 5-14 on the season. They will now start a homestand against the currently undefeated Golden State Warriors, while the Knicks will be traveling to take on the Milwaukee Bucks for the third time this season tomorrow night.

Before we get to that game, let’s take a more in depth look from the game tonight. Check out our takeaways from the Knicks blowout victory against the Nets.
