Matchup Of The Game Recap:

The matchup we highlighted in our keys to the game was the one between Arron Afflalo and James Harden. This one did not disappoint, as Afflalo and Harden both had big games.

With Carmelo Anthony out of the lineup, Afflalo assumed more of the scoring responsibility and he responded well. He made 13-of-19 from the field for a season-high 31 points, making 2-of-4 from deep and 3-of-4 from the foul line. He also added seven rebounds, four assist and one steal as Afflalo did a great impersonation of Anthony on both ends of the court.

Afflalo had his hands full defensively against Harden, and did a solid job against him. Harden shot poorly once again, making only 10-of-28 from the field, missing all seven of his three-point attempts and only going 6-of-10 at the foul line. He was able to keep the offense going though as he handed out nine assists, setting up his teammates to help get the team back in the game when his shot wasn’t falling. He also added seven rebounds for good measure.

It was a good battle tonight against Afflalo and Harden, who both had big games when their teams needed them most. Unfortunately for the Knicks, Afflalo’s went to waste as the Knicks lost the game to the Rockets.
