Player Of The Game: Kristaps Porzingis

The Knicks’ rookie had his hands full tonight on the inside going up against a very formidable duo in Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside. He struggled at times, but once again was able to have an impact despite the difficult matchup.

Porzingis showed off an array of moves in the post and midrange. He has a deadly turnaround jumper, as his shot us unblockable; standing 7-feet-3 inches tall, no player is tall enough to block the shot, let alone really disrupt his motion. He used that and his ability to knock down a perimeter jump shot to his advantage.

Going up against Whiteside at times, who is not comfortable on the perimeter, Porzingis made him pay. He knocked down 3-of-5 from deep and 7-of-18 overall for 20 points as he found ways to score despite his opponents. He outplayed Bosh tonight as Porzingis continues to add to his impressive rookie season.

He also added a game-high 14 rebounds as well, as Porzingis fought to the very end despite the Knicks trailing for a majority of the game. It is the kind of energy and fight you love to see out of young players, as Porzingis continues to impressive and surprise plenty of people.
