Matchup Of The Game Recap

Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James brought it tonight on both ends of the court. They matched up against each other throughout most of the night, and it was a heavyweight bout between two of the premier players in the game. Both led the ways for their team, and played well enough to get a victory, but there had to be one winner and one loser.

Unfortunately, the Knicks and Anthony were the loser tonight. Anthony played well though, as he led the team with 26 points as he is getting his stroke back. He shot 9-of-20 from the field, making 4-of-8 from deep and making all four of his free throw attempts. He also added five rebounds and four assists as he did everything to get the Knicks a victory at home.

But, James did just a little bit more. He scored 31 points on 12-of-21 from the field and benefited from more free throw attempts. He had 10 in the game, making seven of them. He also added three rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block as he was all over the court for the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers won the game by only six points, but James finished with a plus/minus ratio of +17, which speaks volume to just how dominant he was tonight.

Once again in the fourth quarter, James came up big against his friend. Anthony was not put in the best position by his teammates, and was called for a backbreaking travel late in the game that would have kept the Knicks ahead in the waning moments. James made two baskets to help put the game away, and their differing play in the fourth quarter is a big reason for the win.
