The New York Knicks were able to pull out an impressive victory on the road over the Toronto Raptors, defeating their Atlantic Division foes 111-109. It was a total team effort from the Knicks, who get contributions up and down their roster, as they played all 13 active players. This was the first of four matchups between the division members, and it is encouraging to see the Knicks see their division slate get off on the right foot.

With the victory, the Knicks have moved to .500 on the season, with a 3-1 record on the road. After winning only seven road games all of last season, it is encouraging to see them pick up victories in three of their first four games, especially with whom the opponents were. They have picked up road victories over three projected Eastern Conference teams in the Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards and Raptors, with their only loss coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It was an exciting game for the Knicks, who had fallen short all of last week in close contests but were able to pull this one out. The Raptors were without two rotation players in DeMarre Carroll and Terrence Ross, and the Knicks took full advantage. It was a rather fast paced game, so the Knicks used all the players they had available to them, while the Raptors really only used nine.

This one went right down to the wire as well, as the Knicks were able to get just enough stops to pull off the upset victory. There were plenty of encouraging signs for the Knicks, as it was important to get the victory tonight since it was the first game of a back-to-back set.

They will continue that back-to-back set tomorrow, as they will travel to take on the Charlotte Hornets. Before we get to breaking down that game, let’s take a look at tonight’s game.

Check out the takeaways for the Knicks in their victory Tuesday night over the Raptors.
