The most likely destination for Murphy may be a trip to the West Coast to team up with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. Despite having two of the best right-handed hitters in the majors, the Angels missed the playoffs yet again in 2015, and part of that was due to not having a lot of threats from the left-side of the plate. The Angels decided to part ways with Josh Hamilton after he had a slip-up, and that left Kole Calhoun as the only left-handed batter that was any kind of threat.

Murphy would be a good fit on the defensive side of the field for the Angels as he could play first base, second base, and get time at DH. Adding help for Trout and Pujols has to be on the top of the Angles’ offseason wish list
