The New York Knicks will be looking to snap their three-game losing streak, and get their first win of the season at Madison Square Garden, later this afternoon against the Los Angeles Lakers. This will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams, and possibly the last time we see Kobe Bryant grace the court in Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks are coming off a difficult night on Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks, who had revenge on their minds from opening night. It has been a struggle all week, as the Knicks have fallen to the pressure of a close fourth quarter against the San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers and Bucks. Because of that, they now sit at 2-4 on the season.
The Lakers come into the Sunday matinee feeling good, as they picked up their first win of the season over the Knicks New York City co-tenants in the Brooklyn Nets. It snapped a four-game losing streak to start the season that saw multiple blowouts as the Lakers are in full blown rebuilding mode, but you wouldn’t know it from who is on the roster.

The Knicks will see plenty of familiar faces, as former Atlantic Division foes Lou Williams and Brandon Bass are both on the Lakers, and Roy Hibbert, who dominated the Knicks in the postseason in 2013, is also on the team. Former Knick Metta World Peace is also on the Lakers bench, but he has appeared in only one game this season.
While there is a changing of the guard for the Lakers, and the Knicks are rebuilding their team as well, this is still a marquee matchup in name power, as these are two of the most recognizable NBA franchises despite their recent struggles.
Will the Knicks be able to end their three-game losing streak and get their first win at Madison Square Garden of the season, or will the Lakers leave New York with a sweep of their two teams? You will have to tune in to find out, but before watching take a look at our keys to the game when the Knicks host Kobe Bryant for possibly the last time in his career.
