The super matchup between Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James wasn’t as good as advertised. Both players struggled throughout most of the game with their shot, as they combined to go 15-of-41 from the field. But, James was able to get the baskets when his team needed them most, while Anthony came up short.

In the deciding fourth quarter, James scored nine of his 23 points, while Anthony scored only two. Anthony had the upper hand in the first quarter when he scored seven points, but was quiet after that. He ended the game with only 17 points on 6-of-17 from the field as he continues to struggle with his shot. James struggled with his as well, making only his second three-pointer of the season and struggling at the foul line, going 4-of-7.

Both were able to provide production in other ways though, as Anthony added 12 rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks. James would add five rebounds, three assists, four steals and one block.

You will not see as poor of shooting performances like this too often from players the caliber of Anthony and James, as it seemed both are still feeling the effects of their respective injuries.
