With all of the improvements that the Knicks made this season, they will be much better than they were last year and won’t have to worry about setting another franchise record for losses. Instead, the Knicks will experience a solid turnaround and make the postseason in the Eastern Conference.

While the Eastern Conference has improved during the offseason, the Knicks have something many of those teams do not; Carmelo Anthony. As long as he is healthy and playing, the Knicks can beat anyone on a given night because he has the ability to go off for 40 or 50 with the snap of his figures. That is a luxury not every team has, as they have to grind it out every night and hope someone catches fire.

While Anthony will be the driving force for the Knicks, the upgrades to the rest of their roster will really help. In the words of Charles Barkley, the Knicks have real NBA players now and it will show. Their starting lineup is much improved with Jose Calderon and Anthony being joined by Arron Afflalo, Porzingis and Lopez. That lineup will spread you out offensively as everyone can knock down a jump shot, and defensively it will be a struggle to score at the rim with two players standing at least seven-feet tall.

On the bench, the Knicks are much improved as well. Grant and Langston Galloway will cause problems for opposing backcourts, while Williams and O’Quinn look to have roles locked up that they are comfortable in as well.

All this has the makings of the Knicks sneaking into the bottom part of the Eastern Conference playoffs, ending their two year postseason drought.
