12.) Oakland Raiders (3-3)
The young Raiders were once again able to prove that they are certainly improving this season, as they defeated the Chargers on the road by eight points. Derek Carr torched the Chargers’ secondary, as he totaled 289 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. Amari Cooper was a beneficiary of that, as he totaled six receptions and 133 receiving yards in the win. The Raiders are clearly the second best team in the AFC West, but the question is do they have what it takes to dethrone the Broncos?
11.) New York Giants (4-3)
It wasn’t a pretty win for the Giants in Week 7, but they were able to get some revenge on a much different looking Cowboys team than the one they faced in the first week of the season. An interception for a touchdown and a kickoff return for a touchdown helped the Giants get past the Cowboys for their fourth win of the season. Stopping the run was not a strength of the Giants in Week 7 like it has been in the beginning part of the season, and that has to be concerning.
10.) Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3)
With no Michael Vick or Ben Roethlisberger, it was third strong quarterback Landry Jones making his first career start for the Steelers in Week 7. Jones didn’t have the success that he did in Week 6, as he totaled 209 passing yards and two interceptions in the loss. Roethlisberger might be ready in Week 8 against the Bengals, and then we will finally see the potential of the Steelers.
