Eric Hosmer is one of the young players that the Royals waited patiently to grow up and their patience is being rewarded. Hosmer has become one of the best young first baseman in baseball, and really steps his game up one the lights are brightest in the postseason.
Hosmer is entering the World Series tied for the Royals franchise record for postseason RBI with 23. Despite hitting only .222 this postseason, he is picking up hits when it counts, knocking in 11 RBI. He has been a run producing machine thus far, and that will continue against the Mets.
Hosmer will becoming the sole holder of the Royals postseason RBI record, with his first RBI of the series giving him that title. We will take it a step further though, and say that he reaches 30 career postseason RBI, as he does his best Daniel Murphy impersonation for the Royals.
The Royals as a whole hit really well against power pitchers like the Mets will be deploying. It will result in some strong performances at the plate for the Royals, who will be led by Hosmer.
