Depending on what you want out of your lineup will decide which lineup you like more. Do you like an offense that is more do-or-die reliant on power, such as the Mets? Or do you prefer having a lineup that is interchangeable and difficult to navigate because each player can hurt you, such as the Royals have?

In a series that is expected to be as tight as this one, each has their advantages. In a close game, you like having a guy that can put one over the wall, which the Mets have throughout. Daniel Murphy has turned into Barry Bonds at the plate, while the Mets still have Yoenis Cespedes, Lucas Duds, Travis d’Arnaud and Curtis Granderson who could poke one out. That is a strategy that could work, as the Royals are uncharacteristically giving up home runs in the postseason.

For the Royals, they can beat you one-through-nine. All of their guys can work the count, get on base and deliver a big hit. Every player that has started a game for the Royals in the postseason has at least one RBI, as they are getting contributions from everywhere.

That is why we are picking the Royals for having the superior lineup. Unlike the Mets, who have relied virtually on Daniel Murphy and little else to get to this point, the Royals have gotten a team effort from their lineup. Their approach at the plate makes them dangerous no matter if they are at the top, middle or bottom of the order. The same cannot be said for the Mets, who have clear weak spots in their lineup.

Also, the Royals were the best team in baseball hitting against pitches that were clocked at 95+MPH; that is what they will see a lot of from the Mets and they will not be nervous to face it.
