First off, congratulations to Tom Coughlin for winning his 100th game as the coach of the New York Giants. This was as fine a win as he has had outside of playoff victories, and is a big one to help his team erase the memories of struggles in past seasons and get over the hump against a division opponent. This is arguably the best job that Coughlin has done at the helm for the Giants, as he is getting the most out of a very limited and thin cast in some areas.

We have also been hard on Ben McAdoo at times here, and rightfully so, but he deserves credit this time. While the passing game struggled, McAdoo went deep into the depth chart and inserted Darkwa for a spark and it worked. The Giants were struggling to find something to get behind offensively and McAdoo found one in Darkwa.

Steve Spagnuolo have to go to back to the drawing board on how to stop the run, but the Giants pass defense has been strong. The weakest part of the team coming into the season was arguably the safety position and secondary in general, but they have stepped up big time. They are creating turnovers and putting points on the board themselves, or setting the offense up to do so.

The work that has been done with the special teams has also been remarkable. For years the Giants have struggled covering kickoffs and punts, and there was no threat in the return game. They may have had to spend a little during free agency to change that, but it has been money and a draft pick well spent thus far as players like Harris, Jonathan Casillas and Wing have proven their worth.

Coughlin and his staff now there is a lot of work still to do though. They will enjoy this big win for a little while, but they will get back to work soon enough on a game plan to pick up a victory in a tough environment in the Superdome against the New Orleans Saints.
