Passing Defense Grade: A-

It was a strong day for the Giants pass defense, as they forced turnover after turnover once again. After picking off Sam Bradford three times last week, they picked off Matt Cassel three times this week as well. Cassel looked out of sorts throughout the afternoon, much like he has throughout his career outside of New England, and the Giants took advantage.

Cassel completed 17-of-27 for 227 yards, one touchdown the three interceptions. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie got him twice, the first of which he returned for a touchdown as Cassel seemed to miss Terrance Williams towards the sideline. The second was an impressive play by Rodgers-Cromartie, as he undercut Brice Butler. In between the Rodgers-Cromartie plays, Brandon Meriweather cashed in on his second interception in as many weeks, catching another pass that looked like a punt. The interceptions came almost in succession, as the Giants intercepted three out of five passes Cassel threw in one stretch.

The Giants get an A- though becuase they still are unable to generate much of a pass rush. Yes the Cowboys have a strong offensive line, but the pass rush was still virtually nonexistent. Also, they did allow Cassel to make a couple plays, as he found Williams and Devin Street along the sidelines for tip-toeing deep plays, with the one to Street resulting in a touchdown.

All in all, it was a good showing from the Giants pass defense. Jayron Hosley could improve in certain areas, but they did their job against a journeyman such as Cassel, forcing turnovers to turn into easy points.
