Rashad Jennings was at the middle of the confusion in the first game of the season, as he said he was told by Eli Manning not to score. It set off a bit of a firestorm in the media, as it showed that the Giants were not on the same page and didn’t know the game situation. They will be looking to get back on track as a group, but you can be sure Jennings wants to make up for his mistake from Week 1.

The Giants run game has struggled mightily all season, as they are the only team in the NFL without a 100 yard game this season. Week 1 against the Cowboys was the closest them came, as they gained 99 yards; a weird coincidence had the Giants encouraged Jennings to score, they would have passed the century mark.

Of those 99 yards, Jennings picked up 52 of them. That is the next highest total of the season for him, which makes him a weird player to watch for. But, he has shown signs of life the last three weeks, averaging at least 4.0 yards per carry in each game, including a season-high 63 against the Eagles last week.

Jennings won’t be an every down back with the Giants, as they also work Andre Williams and Shane Vereen into the picture, but Jennings is the lead dog for carries. If they are going to break the 100-yard mark, Jennings will play a big part in doing it.

If the Giants are to pick up a much needed victory over the Cowboys, they will need the running game to pick up some of the slack offensively. After the beating Manning took last week, expect the Giants to rely more on the running game as they try and take the pressure off their passing game.
