The Jets passing offense got off to a rocky start in the first half. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw his seventh interception of the season near the end of the first half, which set up the Redskins for a field goal. That was after Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall each fumbled, setting up a touchdown and field goal for the Redskins. Those three plays essentially put the Jets in the 13-10 hole they faced at halftime. For the Jets sake the second half went much differently.

The Jets didn’t turn the ball over in the second half and were able to bury the Redskins. Fitzpatrick ended the game completing 19-of-26 for 253 yards, two touchdowns and the one interception. The recipients of those touchdowns were none other than Decker and Marshall.

Marshall’s touchdown was 35 yards, as he finished the game with seven receptions for 111 yards. Decker’s was a two yard reception, as he finished the game with four receptions for 59 yards and the touchdown.

Those two did essentially all the damage in the passing game. Chris Ivory was third on the team with 50 receiving yards on three catches, while none of the other receivers were really involved much.

The Jets passing offense took advantage of a shorthanded Redskins unit, but the performance of Bashaud Breeland needs to be pointed out. The Redskins’ corner was responsible for all three Jets turnovers, adding four tackles and two passes defended as well.
