The one 49ers’ player that is worth taking a look at in fantasy football this week is Reggie Bush. You may ask, why is the 49ers backup running back on this list with how good the Giants rushing defense is and their top option, Carlos Hyde, being absent? Well, that is because Bush is their passing down back, giving him some upside against the Giants.

While the Giants have dominated against the run this season, their pass defense has been the exact opposite. They are last defending the pass, giving up 316 yards per game through the air. Kaepernick has struggled mightily to limit the opportunities for Bush, but his biggest problem has been throwing outside the numbers, where the Giants are strongest. The Giants are pretty weak up the middle though, and that is where they have been hurt the most.

The Giants have struggled this season defending running backs in the passing game, and Bush is one of the best in the business in that area. The Giants give up the ninth most points in fantasy football to running backs in large part because they cannot stop them through the air. The 233 receiving yards given up to running backs is only 46 yards less than they have given up on the ground. They have given up 26 receptions to opposing running backs in four games, meaning there could be a role for Bush against the Giants.

With the Giants expected to be leading this game, the 49ers should be passing early and often, meaning Bush will be a big part of the game plan. He is their third-down and passing back, meaning he could come away as the most productive player on the 49ers this weekend. Bush is near minimum price in DFS, priced at $3,600 on DK and $5,300 on FD. He could be a punt play that pays off in tournaments, and should be in the FLEX consideration in season long leagues.
