Eli Manning came into the season with some heightened expectations in the fantasy football world. He took advantage of the offensive scheme that Ben McAdoo put in place, cutting down on his turnovers and become extremely efficient. That pushed Manning up some draft boards for this season, and he has yet to disappoint.
After throwing zero touchdowns Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, he has thrown multiple touchdowns for three consecutive weeks, including three against the Buffalo Bills. He has also continued the strong ball security, turning the ball over only twice; fumbling once and throwing one interception. Against the 49ers, there is a good chance those solid ratios will continue.
Since a Week 1 win over the Vikings, the 49ers defense has been very giving to opposing quarterbacks. They give up the 11th most points in fantasy football to opposing quarterbacks, which is helped a lot by that Week 1 game in which Teddy Bridgewater was held to 8.84 points. Since then, they have given up 21.82 fantasy points per game to Ben Roethlisberger, Carson Palmer and Aaron Rodgers. Digging deeper, the games on the road have been worse than the ones they played at home, so that is another advantage for Manning.
Manning has been trending toward an every week QB1 with his recent performances, and a meeting with the 49ers on Sunday Night Football this week will cement his status there. He is the 8th highest priced QB on both DraftKings ($6,800) and FanDuel ($7,700) he makes for a solid play in safe lineups in 50/50 and double up games.
