15. Baltimore Orioles (81-81)
MVP: Manny Machado
Cy Young: Chris Britton
Biggest Disappointment: Starting Rotation
Machado wanted to make sure no one forget about him when discussing the young studs in baseball, as he put together a monster season with 35 home runs, 30 doubles, and 86 RBI while playing every game of the season. Too bad there wasn’t anyone in the starting rotation that could provide that sort of production on a consistent basis, as they struggled throughout the season. Once again the lack of a front end starter did the Orioles in, as they relied on middle and back end starters to get them through the season again, but it didn’t work this time.
14. Cleveland Indians (81-80)
MVP: Francisco Lindor
Cy Young: Danny Salazar
Biggest Disappointment: Corey Kluber
Lindor is just one of many young players that made an immediate impact this season. It looks like he and Carlos Correa will battle it out for many years to come for the starting All-Star spot at shortstop in the AL. Salazar is one of many powerful arms the Indians have at their disposal, forming a strong trio with Carlos Carrasco and Kluber. Kluber’s 2015 was a disappointment though following his 2014 Cy Young award winning campaign. Despite that, this team has a bright outlook as Bryan Shaw and Cody Allen are also a strong duo at the end of games.
13. San Francisco Giants (84-78)
MVP: Buster Posey
Cy Young: Madison Bumgarner
Biggest Disappointment: Pitching Staff
Since it is an odd year, it should surprise no one that the Giants are missing the postseason. But, that trend could have ended had the Giants been able to get more help beyond Bumgarner in the starting rotation. Injuries really set this team back, but even with that they fought until the last week of the season. This team will not be disappearing anytime soon.
