New York started the game off very well with a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass to Brandon Marshall for 58 yards which set the Jets up nicely on their first drive. Chris Ivory would cap the drive off with a three-yard rushing touchdown.

After a three-and-out on the Dolphins’ second drive of the game, the Jets would put together another nice drive that resulted in a 22-yard field goal for Nick Folk.

The Dolphins’ offense continued to be anemic, as they would go on to have three consecutive three-and-outs, which the Jets would capitalize on once with a 48-yard field goal by Folk. Miami would finally get on the board in the second quarter with some help from the Jets’ secondary. Two pass interference penalties on Darrelle Revis and Marcus Gilchrist would set the Dolphins up in the red zone. On their third official play of the drive, Ryan Tannehill threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Jake Stoneburner.

With less than a minute to go in the first half, the Jets were able to build their lead, as Eric Decker caught a 10-yard pass from Fitzpatrick to make it a 20-7 game.

The Jets came out very strong to start the second half, as they scored a touchdown on their first drive with a rushing touchdown from Zac Stacy. An injury to Bilal Powell gave Stacy an opportunity to get in on the Jets’ rushing attack in Week 4.

With the score being 27-7 in the fourth quarter, the Dolphins were able to get down the field on a relaxed Jets’ defense. Tannehill would connect with Kenny Stills for a 10-yard touchdown pass. The Dolphins would make things very interesting in the fourth quarter with a chance to bring it to a one possession game. On a fourth and goal, Darrelle Revis would intercept Tannehill on a lob pass into the middle of the end zone with the Jets’ pass-rush coming in hard.

There was a lot to be happy with for the Jets, but one of the things that has to be cleaned up were the amount of penalties on the Jets. New York committed 14 penalties for 163 yards, which helped the Dolphins move the ball down the field.

It was clear how important Ivory and Decker are to the Jets, as New York’s offense looked so much better with those two in the lineup. Ivory totaled a career-high 166 rushing yards one week after the Jets’ running game was a lost cause. Ivory looked healthier than Decker who was seen limping around a bit after plays.

The win for the Jets keeps them on track in the AFC East with the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots. The win also is a crushing blow to the Dolphins’ season who are now 1-3 with some changes possibly imminent.
