Eli Manning has had his brain cramps at times this season, with clock management being right at the top. But, there has been plenty of positives as well for Manning as he will look to keep the Giants passing game humming.
Through three games, Manning has upped his completion percentage again, as the 64.8 percent he currently has would set another career high for the second consecutive season. Not only that, Manning has also kept the turnovers down. He lost that one fumble against the Falcons that hurt a lot, but Manning is yet to throw an interception (knock on wood). That makes 108 pass attempts in a row to start the season without throwing an interception, a career best to start the season with for Manning.
While the four touchdowns are a bit disappointing, Manning has tossed two in both of his last two games, and could have probably had more had the Giants needed it against the Redskins last week. Manning finally got Rueben Randle going along side Odell Beckham Jr. and Shane Vereen last week, and will only be getting more help this week.
With his favorite target before Beckham Jr. came to town in Victor Cruz returning, Manning will have yet another weapon at his disposal. He should be able to find them early and often against the Bills. Despite being one of the most feared units in the NFL with Rex Ryan at the helm, the Bills pass defense has been nothing to write home about. They have given up 980 yards through their three games, which ranks better than only the Giants in the NFL.
If the offensive line can continue keeping Manning clean in the pocket, he should have no problem picking apart the Bills secondary. Manning and Taylor could turn this into a shootout with how soft each team’s passing defense has been thus far.
