Tyrod Taylor has taken the NFL by storm through three weeks. After picking apart the Colts in Week 1, he struggled a bit against Bill Belichick and the Patriots. He absorbed eight sacks and threw three interceptions as he was unable to make good reads or get comfortable in the pocket. Despite that, he still completed 23-of-30 for 242 yards and three touchdowns, also adding 43 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown.
He then dominated the Dolphins thoroughly, completing 21-of-29 for 277 yards and three touchdowns. He completed a beautiful timing pass up the sideline to Chris Hogan for a touchdown that made him look like a seasoned veteran. Now, he will be taking on a Giants defense that has been underwhelming through three games.
Taylor is a difficult player to defend because he can hurt you with his legs as much as he can with his arm. He has 96 yards through three games, averaging 5.6 yards per rush. That is more than enough to warrant some attention from the Giants. But where Taylor could really succeed is through the air, as the Giants have given up the most passing yards in the NFL through three weeks.
The Giants have surrendered 1,007 passing yards on 68.6 percent completion. There is little reason to think that Taylor will not add to those numbers, as he is completing passes at a 74.4 percent clip through three weeks, which is fourth in the NFL behind only Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo and Philip Rivers.
Taylor may be without top receiver Sammy Watkins against the Giants, but he has been spectacular thus far this season. He is someone to keep an eye on not only against the Giants, but throughout the season as he looks like a legit starting quarterback.
