6. Chicago Cubs (90-65) The Cubs may have clinched a winning record against the Pirates this season, but it looks like they may be on the road for the Wild Card game regardless. After losing the weekend series against the Buccos, the Cubs sit 4.5 games behind in the Wild Card. After a makeup game with the Royals, the Cubs face the Reds and Brewers on the road, so they are no€™t done for yet but it is an unlikely flip in the standings. But, with how Jake Arrieta has performed, the Cubs may not be overly concerned where they play a Wild Card game at. Arrieata has no€™t lost since July 25th and now has an ERA that sits at 1.82 with a 21-6 record; can you say Cy Young?

5. New York Mets (89-67) Party like it is 2006 Mets fans! The Mets clinched the NL East division this weekend against the Reds as they continued to win while the Nationals couldn’t get out of their own way. This has been a long time coming for manager Terry Collins, who is making his first playoff appearance in his managerial career. The job is not done though, as the Mets are still fighting for home field advantage throughout the playoffs, a huge edge for a team as dominant at home as the Mets. Keep an eye on the bullpen this upcoming week as well, as it looks like the Mets will be going with a playoff rotation of Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard and Steven Matz, pushing veterans Bartolo Colon and Jon Niese to the bullpen.

4. Kansas City Royals (90-65) The Royals were able to lock up their first division title since 1985 when they were a part of the AL West and there were seven teams in the division. That season they were able to win the World Series; will that happen again this time around? They will have to get some things figured out if history is to repeat itself, as it was revealed Greg Holland has a tear in his elbow and will miss the postseason. It is an injury he has had all season, so the fact he gutted it out for his teammates should motivate them to bring home the hardware. They also need to hold off the hard charging Blue Jays for home field in the playoffs. No one wants to play a series in Toronto, that place will be rocking.
