12. San Francisco Giants (81-74) The Giants are holding onto the slimmest of hopes for a playoff spot, as their next loss for Dodgers win will eliminate them. They were unable to take advantage of the Dodgers recent skid in any way, as they have also had some struggles of their own. It has been an uphill battle all season for the Giants with the injuries they have suffered from, but if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive they have a chance as they have a four-game series with the Dodgers to start the week. It could also be the last time we see Tim Hudson take the mound, as the 16-year veteran is set to retire at the end of the season.

11. Los Angeles Angels (81-74) The Angels have gotten hot at the right time. They have won three consecutive series, two of which came against teams fighting for playoff spots as well. They are one of the hotter teams in baseball currently as well, riding a five-game winning streak. They will host the Athletics to start the week before ending the season with a huge four-game series against the Rangers. That series will have plenty of implications, as those two teams and the Astros are fighting for playoff spots and positioning. But, they will have to handle business against the Athletics first and foremost to make that weekend series worth anything.

10. Houston Astros (82-74) The Astros may have saved their season over the weekend taking two of three from the Rangers, the first of which they launched six home runs in. Had they not had that power barrage, or Dallas Keuchel dominant Sunday, the Astros could be staring down a five game losing streak and on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Instead they are leading by 0.5 games and control their own destiny; as long as they keep winning, they will hold onto a playoff spot. They will finish the season on the road at Seattle and Arizona. It would be a huge letdown if the Astros miss the playoffs after being the darlings of the MLB season.
