15. Washington Nationals (79-76) If not for Bryce Harper having an MVP caliber season, there would be no real positives to take away for the spring training World Series champs. Almost unanimously picked as a NL East and World Series favorite, the Nationals are going to fall woefully short of those expectations. The most fight this team has shown in weeks happened this weekend between teammates when Jonathan Papelbon took it upon himself to get at Harper for not hustling, resulting in Harper being put in a choke. That pretty much is the epitome of the Nationals in September; as if choking on the field was no€™t enough someone took it upon themselves to do it in the dugout as well.

14. Cleveland Indians (77-77) The playoffs will most likely not come this season for the Indians, but they have to be encouraged about the future. Finishing the season as strong as they are is a good indication of things to come next season. Francisco Lindor looks like a superstar at shortstop, and while Corey Kluber struggled in his Cy Young campaign follow up, he makes a strong trio with Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar. There is a lot to be excited about in Cleveland as they finish out the season with a homestand against the Twins and Red Sox.

13. Minnesota Twins (80-75) The Twins still have an outside chance of sneaking into the playoffs, but they will need some help. They do not control their own destiny being 1.5 games behind currently, but can continue to put pressure on the Angels, Rangers and Astros if they can handle business against the Indians and Royals this week. It will not be a cakewalk though, as the Indians still technically have a chance, and the Royals are playing for homefield. The odds have been against the Twins all season though, so you can count on them trying to defy them, no matter how unlikely, one more time this season.
