4.) Nick Leddy
One of the best moves made by Garth Snow in the offseason was the trade to acquire 24-year-old defenseman Nick Leddy from the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite being young, Leddy brought a lot of playoff experience to the Islanders and he will be around the Islanders for a long time after signing a contract extension.
Last season, Leddy totaled 37 points with 10 goals and 27 assists. The 37 points for Leddy led all defenseman on the Islanders, and he was also second on the team in +/- with a +18.
Leddy is just beginning to enter his prime and he will be one of the biggest bright spots on the Islanders for their transition to Brooklyn.
