5.) Kyle Okposo
It was a bit of a disappointing season for Kyle Okposo last year, as an eye injury cost him a good chunk of the season and ruined his rhythm.
Two seasons ago when John Tavares was injured, Okposo emerge as a leader and a great scorer for the Islanders. In the 2013-14 season, Okposo totaled 69 points with 27 goals and 42 assists. While his numbers weren’t quite as good as two seasons ago, Okposo still totaled 51 points in a season that was derailed by a major injury.
Okposo and Tavares are one of the best combinations in the NHL when they are on the ice together, and they will attempt to lead the Islanders into Brooklyn with a winning season.
