8.) Josh Bailey
After years of causing frustration for Islanders fans, Josh Bailey came through last season with his best season of his career. The Islanders selected Bailey with the ninth overall pick in the 2008 draft, as they hoped he would be a cornerstone of the team for years to come.
Bailey hasn’t gone anywhere in seven years in the NHL, but he also took a long time to finally show some of that potential. Last season, Bailey was placed on the Islanders’ first line with John Tavares which elevated his play to new heights.
Last season, Bailey totaled a career-high 41 points with 15 goals and 26 assists in 70 games. Bailey is still just 25-years-old, and he will look to build upon his improved play from last season.
