12.) San Diego Chargers (1-1)
After a thrilling come from behind with in Week 1, the San Diego Chargers were unable to carry that momentum in Cincinnati. The Chargers played very competitively against the Bengals but just simply came up short.
Rookie running back Melvin Gordon had a much better game for the Chargers than his Week 1 performance, as he totaled 88 rushing yards on 16 carries. The Chargers’ rushing defense really struggled to stop Giovani Bernard, as he was the difference in the game.
11.) Kansas City Chiefs (1-1)
The Chiefs suffered a heartbreaking loss on Thursday Night Football to the Denver Broncos. After allowing a late touchdown to Peyton Manning and the Broncos to tie the game, the Chiefs elected to run the ball with less than minute to go deep in their own territory. Jamaal Charles would fumble the ball and the Broncos recovered and returned it for a game-winning touchdown.
Alex Smith did not play well in the loss to the Broncos, as he totaled fewer than 200 yards passing with two interceptions. Frustrations with Smith may begin to grow if he struggles like he did in Week 2.
10.) Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1)
After a Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a major schedule advantage against the San Francisco who had to travel to the East Coast on a short week. Ben Roethlisberger had a fantastic Week 2, as he totaled 369 passing yards and three passing touchdowns.
A 1-1 record without Le’Veon Bell is pretty good, as DeAngelo Williams has filled in admirably for him in the first two weeks of the season. The Steelers’ offense is going one of the most explosive and fun to watch every week in the NFL this season.
