15. Cleveland Indians (74-74) The Indians missed out on a big chance to move up in the standings this past week dropping a series to the Royals, but they handled business against the White Sox. They currently sit four games out of the second wild card spot, so it will be difficult to move up. But, they have a road trip visiting the Twins and Royals this week, so if they are going to make a move what better way than to do it against the teams directly ahead of you? Danny Salazar, Corey Kluber and Cody Anderson will take the mound in the series against the Twins, which will be make or break for the Indians’ season.

14. Minnesota Twins (76-73) The Twins playoff hopes suffered a big blow this past week, as they lost series to the Tigers and Angels, who are also fighting for a playoff spot. They are now tied with the Angels 2.5 games behind the Astros for the second wild card spot, so they will need some help to move up. But, they will have to handle business against the Indians and Tigers this week. The series with the Indians will make or break the Twins playoff chances more than likely, as they will have Ervin Santana, Tommy Milone and Kyle Gibson taking the mound.

13. San Francisco Giants (78-71) It was a trend the Giants were hoping to reverse, but their struggles the season after winning a World Series look like they will continue. They were just unable to overcome the injuries that plagued them all year, as Hunter Pence, Joe Panik and Nori Aoki missed large chunks of the season in the lineup. The pitching staff was not spared, as Matt Cain, Tim Linecum, Tim Hudson and Jake Peavy all missed time and were ineffective for the most part when on the mound. They currently sit 7.5 game behind the Dodgers for what looks to be a virtually insurmountable lead to overcome.
