Rookie safety Landon Collins had some poignant words for Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, per New York Post reporter Zach Braziller. Romo took the dare and won. Collins allowed five receptions out of five targets and two touchdown passes in coverage, per Pro Football Focus.

It’s encouraging to see a rookie publicly accept a challenge, offer a confident retort and avoid shell shock. However, Collins must pick himself up after a bad outing.

According to Collins’ personal blog post, he acknowledged the mistakes made and realizes that it’s time to move on to the next opponent.

"“It’s never easy to lose a game but losing the way we did stung a bit. We’ll use this as a lesson though, and just come out that much harder next week. We have to build on our mistakes and make sure they don’t happen again, and then we come out next time and execute.”"

As a team, the Giants must show resiliency. As a player, Collins must show resolve. Falcons tight end Jacob Tamme isn’t an equal talent to 10-time Pro Bowler Jason Witten, but the Giants may need help over the top to contain Jones.

Collins must keep the lid on the defense as insurance for coverage against the Falcons best offensive skill player.
