24.) New Orleans Saints (0-1)

The New Orleans Saints generally struggle on the road, and Week 1 was no different. In their 31-19 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Saints’ new plan of running the ball more didn’t work out well.

In the loss, the Saints only totaled 54 rushing yards on 20 carries with their longest run of the day being nine yards. This offseason, the Saints made personnel changes that would support they were looking to run the ball more, but instead it was Drew Brees throwing for over 350 yards in a loss.

23.) Houston Texans (0-1)

The Houston Texans suffered a 27-20 loss at home to the Kansas City Chiefs, but the biggest takeaway from the game was seeing Ryan Mallett replace Brian Hoyer. It is shocking to see a change of quarterbacks in the first game of the season, but Bill O’Brien obviously didn’t like what he saw from Hoyer.

In relief of Hoyer, Mallett played well, as he totaled 98 passing yards, and one passing touchdown on eight-for-13 passing. It will be very interesting to see who is under center in Week 2 for the Texans.

22.) Detroit Lions (0-1)

Week 1 was looking good for the Detroit Lions in the first half against the San Diego Chargers, but it all fell apart after that. After leading 21-10 at halftime, the Lions lost 33-28 to the Chargers, as they were outscored 23-7 in the second half.

Calvin Johnson was a non-factor in the loss, as he totaled just two receptions and 39 receiving yards. The Lions had a great defense last season, but some of the offseason losses in free agency may lead to a tough season in Detroit on the defensive side of the ball.

21.) Indianapolis Colts (0-1)

The Indianapolis Colts have been one of the better teams in the AFC in recent years, but their 2015 season has started off poorly. The Bills have a lot of hype around them with Rex Ryan as the coach, but it was hard to really gauge what the Bills would be with Tyrod Taylor as their quarterback.

In the loss, the Colts did find out that the Bills’ defense is very good, as the Colts’ high-powered offense was held to 14 points, and Andrew Luck was held to under 250 passing yards with two interceptions.
