Rushing Offense: B-

The Giants rush offense wasn’t used much, and delivered mixed results. Like the pass offense, they were unable to get on track for the most of the game. But, when trying to kill the clock, they got the job done.

Rashad Jennings was the go-to guy when it counted, and it made it count. After Trumaine McBride’s interception in fourth quarter, Rashad Jennings pounded it in for the touchdown. When the Giants were attempting to kill the clock, he was also the go-to guy. He did his job, ripping off his longest run of the game for 27 yards.

He also saved the Giants from a back-breaking penalty, as he pulled rookie Ereck Flowers away from an altercation with Jeremy Mincey; instead of retaliating, Flowers was pulled away from the problem by Jennings and the Giants were awarded 15 yards.

Unfortunately the Giants were unable to make the most of that gift. On the night, the Giants averaged 4.1 yards per carry on their way to 99 yards on 24 attempts. Jennings received 13 of those carries for 52 yards, as Vereen added 14 on three attempts and Andre Williams plodded to 14 on six attempts.

Manning also got into the party, as he scrambled once for eight yards and a first down. Newly signed Dwayne Harris, who was playing for the first time against his former team, also had one rush for 11 yards.

Like the passing offense, it was a rather underwhelming night for the Giants rushing offense as they were not able to get anything going.
