The regular-season premiere of Sunday Night Football sets the stage for NFC East rivals, the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.

Fair or not, the Cowboys come into this contest dubbed as the NFL’s bad boys. The team drafted rookie defensive end Randy Gregory in the second round and signed rookie offensive lineman La’el Collins as an undrafted free agent. Both came into the league with red flags.

Neither player is slated to start, but their potential impact brings some intrigue to this matchup.

The Giants bring a different type of interest. Starting wide receiver Victor Cruz and starting inside linebacker Jon Beason were ruled out earlier in the week via the team’s official website writer Michael Eisen. Wide receiver Rueben Randle and second-year inside linebacker Uani Unga step into those starting roles.

The team experienced a barrage of injuries at the safety position. Both starting safeties get their first start, Landon Collins as a rookie and Cooper Taylor in his second year.

“If he’s going to look for key matchups, he’s going to pick on me.He’s not going to get what he wants, but he’s going to get what he wants.”

The inexperience didn’t stop Collins from making headlines with a message to quarterback Tony Romo as reported by Zach Braziller of the New York Post.

“If he’s going to look for key matchups, he’s going to pick on me,” Collins said to Braziller. “He’s not going to get what he wants, but he’s going to get what he wants.”

You don’t have to become a mind reader to read in between the lines. Collins isn’t coming to Jerry World to bow down to the Cowboys’ four-time Pro Bowl quarterback. He’s ready to conquer.

The former Alabama safety officially throws more wood on the fire between the Giants and Cowboys rivalry.
