9. New York Mets (75-61) It was a tumultuous week for the Mets. On the field they were up and down, taking two of three from the Phillies before losing two of three to the Marlins. This hiccup has enabled the red-hot Nationals to get back into the face, setting up a huge series to start the week in Washington. The Mets are hoping Jon Niese can get things going, or else that series will start on a sour note for the Mets. Off the field, the Matt Harvey saga has fans up in arms and a team kind of blind sided as Harvey said he will abide by a 180 inning limit, meaning his season could be coming to an end soon. This is not the time for the Mets to start slowing down on the field and be having distracts off of it.

8. Houston Astros (75-62) The Astros were lucky that Dallas Keuchel pitched twice this past week, as no one else on the staff was really able to produce outside of Collin McHugh. Keuchel continued right on his path to an AL Cy Young award, as he now sits with a record of 17-6 on the season and an ERA of 2.29 and WHIP of 0.99. The Astros need other guys to step up when they embark on a 10-game road trip as they need to continue winning to ward off the Rangers and Angels, the last two teams they will play on this trip.

7. Chicago Cubs (78-57) The Cubs had a tough start to the week losing a series to the lowly Reds, but bounced back to sweep the Diamondbacks. It was in grand fashion, as Anthony Rizzo and Miguel Montero each launched a grand slam in the series. The Cubs hit home runs all weekend though, launching eight home runs in the three games. Addison Russell had his first multi-homer game of his career in the series opener, while Javier Baez hit his first homer since returning to the big league club as a September call-up. Jonathan Herrera, Kris Bryant and Dexter Fowler all got in on the fun as well over the weekend.
