George Selvie has been battling injuries much of the preseason, so it was nice to see him get back on the field healthy. He returned with a boom, racking up two sacks in the first half. Granted, it was against Patriots backups, but it was nice to see Selvie on the field at all. Also, as a superior player, he is expected to dominant and it was nice to see him do that.

The Giants pass rush has been virtually nonexistent this preseason no matter who was on the field. So, seeing Selvie create some pressure and get to the quarterback was definitely a welcomed site for the Giants’ coaching staff.

The veteran Selvie will definitely have a role on this team as a pass rusher. He has a chance to play more with his college teammate Jason Pierre-Paul sidelined, but even when he is healthy he will be on the field. It was encouraging to see Selvie get over the hamstring injury that sidelined him for a portion of the preseason, and produce when on the field.

He has a chance to start at one of the defensive end spots against the Cowboys in less than two weeks. Even if he doesn’t start, expect him to come out motivate and ready against his old team.
