9. Houston Astros (64-54) The Astros were able to get back on track a bit this week, going 3-2 after getting only one win against the Rangers and Athletics the week before. The starting pitching was dominant once again, and the offense did just enough to pick up the wins. Dallas Keuchel continues to pitch like a Cy Young candidate, as he kept his undefeated record at home intact to go with a 1.26 ERA and .182 batting average against. They are still waiting for Carlos Gomez to get it going at the plate though, as he has hit only .183 with his new team.

8. Toronto Blue Jays (65-54) The Blue Jays were able to run their winning streak up to 11-games with strong pitching and hitting performances against the Athletics. But, the Yankees ended the streak to get some revenge during their weekend series as the Blue Jays are now back in second place. They trail by only .5 a game and look poised to overtake the Yankees. Drew Hutchinson continued his strong performance at home to avoid the sweep, but the Blue Jays will now take their show on the road for eight games after a majority of their 11-game winning streak was at home. Will they find the same success away from Rogers Centre?

7. New York Yankees (64-52) The Yankees were able to get some revenge on the Blue Jays this weekend, taking two of three in the series after getting swept last weekend. But, the Yankees can’t get comfortable, as they struggled against the Indians prior to that and could have easily lost the series to the Blue Jays as well. One guy that isn’t the reason for the Yankees recent swoon is Luis Severino. The top rated pitching prospect in the Yankees organization hasn’t disappointing since being called up. He may not have a win, but his 3.18 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 17 innings is strong. If they scored more than three runs in those 17 innings maybe he would have his first career win already.
