27. Colorado Rockies (48-68) The record isn’t pretty for the Rockies, but there have been some positives. Chris Rusin pitched a complete game shutout at Coors Field Sunday, which is a huge accomplishment. Rockies fans are also getting a glimpse, albeit a small one, of the future in Jon Gray. Gray is on a strict pitch count, as he will probably not go above 75 pitches in any remaining starts, but the early results have been positive. Also, tuning in to see Carlos Gonzalez is a pleasure recently as he continues to crush the baseball. Gonzalez has 16 home runs since the All-Star break and looks like someone the Rockies could receive a massive package for in the offseason if they wish to move him.

26. Cincinnati Reds (51-65) It was a tough week for the Reds, who managed to win only one game in each series they played this week against the Padres and Dodgers. One of those wins came behind Keyvius Sampson, who has had a strong start to his MLB career. The Reds got another glimpse into the future this past week as well, as John Lamb, one of the players they acquired from the Royals for Johnny Cueto, made his MLB debut as well. He got the loss against the Dodgers giving up five runs in six innings, but there were some positives to take away, such as the seven strikeouts he raked up.

25. Atlanta Braves (53-64) The Braves added Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher hoping to help get the offense going, but they have only made it worse since being acquired from the Indians; they are batting .095 and .111 respectively. So, if they aren’t getting dominant performances like the ones they got over the weekend from Julio Teheran and Shelby Miller wins will be tough to come by. Unless Cameron Maybin has more heroics in him like the walk-off homer he delivered Sunday afternoon.
