There wasn’t much to like about the way the Giants played on Friday night, but one player stood out from the rest. Running back Orleans Darkwa was arguably the best player for the Giants in the loss.
Darkwa, who totaled just nine carries for 23 rushing yards in 2014, looking much better in the preseason for the Giants. In the loss, Darkwa totaled nine carries for 52 rushing yards with the Giants’ only touchdown of the game.
On the scoring drive, Darkwa would carry the ball six times for 26 yards, which was capped off with a leaping touchdown run. The Giants have three running backs that will be on the team, as Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen, and Andre Williams will all be on the team in 2015. Even if Darkwa continues to shine in the preseason, his home may not be in New York come the beginning of the season.
