– Big play on special teams
Akeem Hunt has been liked by head coach Tom Coughlin for his speed, and he was able to showcase some of that against the Bengals.
Hunt took the opening kickoff 24 yards out of the end zone, but on his second attempt he nearly took it all the way. After the Bengals’ opening drive touchdown, Hunt would take the ensuing kickoff 70 yards back. Despite being in field goal range, the Giants were unable to capitalize on the great field position Hunt gave them. Josh Brown missed a 53-yard field goal after the Giants offense failed to get a yard after the great return.
The Giants have been searching for a playmaker on special teams, and Hunt is looking he could be the player that could fill that role.
