The New York Giants didn’t get off to a good start in the preseason, as they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 23-10.

Things started out as poorly as possible for the Giants, as they went three and out on their opening drive, and then let the Bengals walk down the field for a touchdown.

Eli Manning and the Giants’ offense never seemed to get going, and the Giants’ defense didn’t look good at all. In the loss, the Giants were nearly doubled in total yards, and the Bengals’ rushing attack looked unstoppable. While preseason doesn’t count for anything, there also wasn’t much that was encouraging to see.

The Giants came into the preseason already banged up, and against the Bengals, more players were injured. A team can deal with making adjustments after a poor preseason game, but losing players to injuries is one of the worst things that can happen in preseason.

Here are five takeaways from the Giants’ preseason loss to the Bengals.
