It was thought that the Detroit Tigers wouldn’t be sellers at the trade deadline until they decided that they were no longer contenders in the AL despite being just a few games back of a wild card spot at the time.

The Tigers would be partners with the Blue Jays for their second blockbuster trade, as they sent David Price to Toronto for prospects. Price is a former Cy Young award winner, and could be the piece that alters the landscape of not only the AL East, but the entire American League.

With the Tigers, Price was 9-4 with a 2.53 ERA, and 138 strikeouts in 146 innings. Price made his debut for the Blue Jays on August 3rd against the Minnesota Twins. In his Toronto debut, Price pitched eight innings, allowing one run, three hits, two walks, and he struck out 11 batters.

Price is no stranger to playing the Yankees, as he has made 26 starts and has a 10-7 record with a 4.41 ERA. While the ERA is higher than then his career average, Price is familiar with the Yankees, and will help the Jays get a big win on Saturday.
